Oxford Science Enterprises Grassroots were delighted to accommodate this ‘Mentorship Evening’ within our Workspace on the evening of Feb. 9th.
Catalyse Oxford is a biotech entrepreneurship programme run in collaboration between the Oxford University Biotech Society (OUBT) and SynBioUK.
Over the course of 8 weeks, students are developing biotech business ideas in teams.
The programme began in January with team formation events, which have been followed by a series of workshops on the main aspects of building a biotech start-up.
Teams had the opportunity to receive personalised mentorship at the ‘Mentorship Evening’ event at Grassroots on Wednesday.
The fantastic group of mentors, who have diverse backgrounds and bring experience across a range of biotech sectors, helped teams with evaluating their ideas and directions to pursue, building viable business plans and IP advice.
The programme will culminate in a weekend-long sprint (Biohackathon) for teams to finalise their ideas, business plans and pitches.
Teams will then pitch to a panel of judges, with prizes for the winning teams.
