FreeFri, 10 February 2023, 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
The Krembil Research Institute will be hosting a free livestream event on February 10, 2023 in recognition of International Day of Women and Girls in Science. This is an open public education event geared towards high school and early university age students of all genders.
This is a unique opportunity to meet with and hear from trailblazing scientists and clinicians, who are working on ground-breaking discoveries that could help solve arthritis, vision and brain disease.
The virtual event will feature three highly accomplished female scientists and clinicians. Amina Adama, MSc (PhD Candidate), Laura Passalent, MHSc (Physiotherapist and Clinician Investigator) and Karen Davis, PhD (Senior Scientist) will give short TED talk-style presentations on their lives and careers, as well as what inspired them to enter the fields of brain, arthritis and vision research.
The event, moderated by CBC Host Mary Ito, is meant to inspire and engage young minds and is geared towards anyone with an interest in STEM education.
