SUMMARY:World Cancer Day Awareness
DESCRIPTION:World Cancer Day is an international day observed every 4 February to raise awareness about cancer\, encourage its prevention\, and mobilise action to address the global cancer epidemic.\n  \n\n\n\nThe day is led by the  Union for International Cancer Control  (UICC) and was established in the year 2000. \nBy catalysing personal\, collective and government action\, we are all working together to reimagine a world where millions of cancer deaths are prevented and access to life-saving cancer treatment and care is equitable for all no matter who you are and where you live.   \nEach year\, hundreds of activities and events take place around the world\, gathering communities\, organisations and individuals in schools\, businesses\, hospitals\, marketplaces\, parks\, community halls\, places of worship – in the streets and online – acting as a powerful reminder  that we all have a role to play in reducing the global impact of cancer. \n  \nUICC runs World Cancer Day campaigns in three-year cycles to allow for a deeper exploration of a particular theme and achieve greater impact.  \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe World Cancer Day theme 2025-2027\, “United by Unique” places people at the centre of care and explores new ways of making a difference.    \nCancer is more than just a medical diagnosis—it’s a deeply personal matter. Behind every diagnosis lies a unique human story – stories of grief\, pain\, healing\, resilience\, love and more.  \n  \nThat’s why a people-centred approach to cancer care that fully integrates each individual’s unique needs\, with compassion and empathy\, leads to the best health outcomes.  \nEvery experience with cancer is unique and it will take all of us\, united\, to create a world where we look beyond the disease and see the person before the patient. A world where the needs of people and communities are at the centre of health systems. \nWe are spreading awareness to all our members about this special day and for more information about this day \, we recommend to see more at : https://www.worldcancerday.org/about

SUMMARY:Neurodiversity Awareness Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Event Start Time \n26/02/2025 – 11:00 \n  \nEvent End Time \n26/02/2025 – 12:00 \n  \nVenue \nBarclays Oxford Eagle Lab\, Wood Centre For Innovation Stansfeld Park\, Quarry Rd\, Oxford\, OX3 8SB \n  \nhttps://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/embracing-neurodiversity-the-power-of-neuro-inclusive-workplaces-tickets-1144112604599 \n  \nThis workshop will explore neurodiversity as the natural variation in how human brains function. \n  \nIn today’s rapidly changing workplace\, embracing neurodiversity is more than an ethical choice— it’s a strategic advantage. \n  \nThis workshop will explore neurodiversity as the natural variation in how human brains function and delve into conditions like autism\, ADHD\, and dyslexia\, which contribute unique strengths and skills to any organization. \n  \nParticipants will discover how tapping into diverse perspectives\, thinking styles\, and problem-solving approaches can drive innovation\, enhance creativity\, and boost overall productivity. To cultivate a truly inclusive and dynamic work environment\, organizations must move beyond good intentions to implement tangible strategies. \n  \nThis includes creating reasonable accommodations such as flexible work schedules\, sensory-friendly spaces\, and clear communication practices. These measures are essential for supporting neurodivergent employees and fostering a workplace culture where everyone can thrive. Through neurodiversity training and awareness\, organizations can adopt neuro-affirming practices that break down stereotypes and reduce stigma. \n  \nThese initiatives empower neurodivergent individuals to contribute their full potential without fear of judgment or discrimination\, enriching the workplace with unique insights and bolstering team success \n  \nWe do hope you can join us on 26th February for this empowering\, interactive workshop. If you have any queries about the event\, please email: kester.matthew2@barclays.com \n  \n**IMPORTANT** Transport Links \n  \nBus: The Nuffield Orthopaedics and Wood Farm Primary School bus stops are 5-10 minutes’ walk from the centre\, services bus routes 900\, 700 and 10 \n  \nBicycle: Showers and bicycle storage available \n  \nParking: There is no parking available on site \n  \nPlease contact Kester Matthew if you have any further queries via email: kester.matthew2@barclays.com \n  \nThank you.
